Welcome to Oak Hill Elementary School’s web page.  We’re very excited about this new school year. We will strive to achieve great gains this year by focusing on data-driven collaboration within professional learning communities. We’d like to acknowledge our hard working staff members, whose dedication make Oak Hill such a great place to be. Also, we’d like to welcome Diana Clark to our staff, who will teach a K-1 combo this year.

Oak Hill’s PTA and Volunteer Organization are always seeking volunteers for their many activities throughout the school year.  We have a Tuesday morning volunteer club, OASIS Reading tutors, Community Service classes from Orange Glen High School, and individual classroom volunteers who offer valuable time in various classrooms.  Please consider becoming a part of our PTA and volunteer some time at our school.

Dr. Clifford Smith, Principal

Our Back-to-School Night was held on September 3rd.  Students met their teachers and became familiar with the school, while parents visited with teachers. Thanks to all the families who came.

This year, we are implementing even more technology-based lessons so children will learn about the importance of technology in our lives while practicing grade level skills in a fun and engaging way. This year, each grade level will create and utilize a website for students to access engaging resources for learning. We are utilizing technology also to fulfill our commitment to environmentally-friendly practices. Our staff is cutting paper usage this year by using Google’s electronic documents. We are using less worksheets also as we integrate iPods, wireless response devices, and interactive computer activities in-cutting-edge educational practices throughout the school.

Be sure to check the district calendar for important dates for student assessments, programs, community involvement and school/district news.  We’ll also keep you informed through our School News, Otter Outlook newsletter, and telephone calling system.  If you have any questions about your child’s education, please contact your child’s teacher or feel free to check with Mrs. Zehnder (Assistant Principal) or me.
