L.R. Green Educational Foundation
The community of ALL L.R. Green parents & teachers!
"Educating the Whole Child"
.
Mission Statement
We are dedicated to enhancing educational excellence for our children by providing additional funds and resources for L. R. Green Elementary School.
.
Why do we have a Foundation?
(or "Why Doesn't L.R. Green Have a PTA?")
L. R. Green used to have a PTA. Parents paid "dues" to join & up to 45% of that money went to the National PTA. There were also numerous restrictions on how PTA-generated funds could be spent.
In order to keep every dollar raised here at L.R. Green, a group of concerned parents & teachers formed the L.R. Green Educational Foundation in 2003.
The Foundation's goal is to raise money to fill the gap between today's school budget & the education our kids need. The money we raise pays for art & music, PE equipment, library books & computers in our classrooms.
We are a tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation with a board made up of PARENTS.
It is not called a PTA, but it serves the same purpose, with the bonus of greater flexibility and impact for L.R. Green.
