Channel B TV News!

Channel B News is a daily commercial-free, 5-minute broadcast of the day's news geared for middle school students, parents, and staff. The student broadcasting class started in the Fall of 2004.

Students from Bear Valley began hunting down stories for their daily news program. What makes this news program different from others is that everything from story ideas and research to production is student produced. The news program is broadcast out to every classroom and office in the school.

This talented team of students collaboratively works on story ideas, interview questions, shooting interviews, editing the video, writing the anchors scripts, and producing the show. When it comes down to show time they have put in many hours getting everything prepared.

During the show there are many different jobs that must be filled. Viewers only see a very small percentage of what is actually going on while on the air. What you don't see are the students running the video cameras, media queue, sound technician, makeup artist, producer, and director. It may look like the anchors are doing it all, but without the whole team there wouldn't be much of a show.

Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to tune in to the show. Feedback is always welcome, and thanks for watching!
