District Mission

Escondido Union Elementary School District in partnership with our community, provides quality learning experiences for all students in a supportive environment, enabling them to be lifelong learners, productive members of the community, and positive contributors.

Focus Goals

  1. Develop a process and provide training for sites in using assessment data for instructional decision-making.
  2. Develop a template for site performance plans developed by each site based on data from 2001 standardized testing. These plans will include a detailed assessment of areas of needed improvement and instructional strategies to be utilized. Each site performance plan will set improvement targets.
  3. Provide ongoing staff development for site administrators and teachers that furthers the concept of data driven decision-making.
  4. Develop and coordinate site-based behavioral support services for students. This will include staff development for all site administrators on processes and procedures for implementing discipline policies.
  5. Develop a detailed plan to help the district attract and retain both teachers and district leadership employees. The plan shall include support, which will enhance all district employees’ opportunities for success.
  6. Develop and implement a detailed plan for the construction of new school sites. The plan will include ways to procure funding for new school construction.
  7. Develop and implement a detailed plan for the maintenance and modernization of district facilities. The plan will establish annual projects to be completed in the district and will include ways to procure funding accordingly.
  8. Develop a plan which integrates district technology efforts and prepares the district and sites to respond in a timely manner to future changes and advancements.
  9. Develop a district policy and administrative regulation to implement energy efficiency and cost savings.

    Educational Goals

  • Ensure ongoing parental involvement through workshops, training, committee participation, volunteerism, and regular communication between parents, schools, and the district office to increase value of and empowerment in the educational system.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of the core curriculum, student performance standards, instructional materials/technology, and staff development.
  • Ensure that new schools are financed and constructed.
  • Ensure accountability for continuous student academic achievement.
  • Ensure all students participate in motivating and challenging activities, appropriate for his/her academic needs, through regular and extended-day opportunities.
  • Ensure that all children become academically proficient in English.
  • Ensure that every child will be at grade level in reading by the end of third grade.
  • Ensure that community partnerships benefit students by addressing the district goals of student achievement, parental involvement, and implementation of the core curriculum.
