The calendars on the District Calendars pages were created by various district staff. These calendars have been created so that you can subscribe to them. This means that that calendar gets added to your own calendar, but as a different ~ category (and different color), so that you can see both.
When the creator of the calendar changes or adds an event, the next time you open your calendar, it updates. So one advantage of Sunbird and iCal is that you can assemble calendars that many different authors have created and have them all in one place. Another advantage is that the calendars are searchable.
You can subscribe to these calendars using iCal (OSX) or Sunbird (Windows, Linux, OSX). More details below:
