iPhoto - used to collect, organize, and share photos. Can create slideshows with music and print pictures in a variety of formats. Can export photos to CD, DVD, iMovie, and .Mac. * |

iTunes - used to collect and organize digital music files (MP3, AIF, WAV, AAC). Can use Rendevous/Boujour to share over a local network. Music can be imported from CDs or purchased. Music can be collected into playlists and can be burned to CDs and or transfered to a iPod. Can search for and collect Podcasts.* |

iMovie - used to create and edit movies and even simple photo slideshows. Imports music from iTunes or CDs. Can import photos from iPhoto. Newer versions can be used to create DVDs. Movies can be saved in many formats for emailing or web pages. * |

iDVD - can be used to create DVDs from iMovie or store data. In iMovie, chapter markers are created for an interactive, menu driven DVD. Many themed templates are available. * |

iCal - a simple, but very useful calendar program. You can create multiple categories in different colors. Calendars can be shared from a .Mac account or from WebDav servers. * |

iChat - chatting using text, audio, and or video. iChat also allows for simple file transfer. Chats can be set up within a LAN or across the Internet* |

Safari - browser for OSX computers only. Advantages include tight integration with other OSX applications.* |

iSync - used to equalize various OSX applications on various Macs. For example, your book marks in Safari could be the same on your work computer, the web, and your home computer.* |

.Mac - a subscription service allowing web-based storage and other features. It can be used with many of the OSX applications. Use it to create a web page, store files. |

iPod - not an application, but it seems to fit here - a special MP3 type player that allows storage of a variety of different data as well. Can be used to record audio and is the basis for the "Podcasting" phenomenon, where recorded audio is brocasted. Uses iTunes as it's organizing software. |
