How does the TMS support the implementation of technology in the classroom?
Exactly what support does TMS supply the teachers and students of EUSD? Below is a partial listing.

Staff Development
Curriculum Based Lessons Developed
Over one hundred standards-based lessons have been developed in the ETT Institutes by teachers and added to the servers at all sites as well as being posted to the web. This lesson bank will grow over time.
Site Support
Site support is provided, with ETTs demonstrating lessons for and with teachers in their classrooms. Help with applications, planning, hardware advice, etc. are offered as well.
Technology Resource Teachers
Educational Technology funds TRT support at each site. The TRTs are site based teachers who have technology experience. They facilitate communication betweeen Educational Techology and their site. They may give after school classes, introduce curriculum, and generally help implement technology into classrooms. TRTs are provided a laptop, AirPort base station, and extensive software.
Edusoft Help
Help implementing the web-based student data mining program Edusoft will be offered.

Web Help Desk
New for 2004-2005, we are providing access to an online help desk. This allows anyone in the district to report a problem or request a service, with immediate notification that the request has been received, and follow-up notification when the request has been acted upon.

District E-mail Support
The district e-mail system training for teachers at most sites was provided by the ETTs. The upgrade to the new Groupwise 6 was provided by Educational Technology.
Access to Online Training
Educational Technology provides access to VTC, an online training facility, where teachers can get training in over 200 applications including AppleWorks, Internet Explorer, MS Office, and Dreamweaver.

Network Standardization
District technicians design and support implementation of a standardized network interface at each site. This greatly reduces the number of variables that can cause conflicts and problems.
Hardware Standardization
To reduce the number of different makes and models of hardware that need support, Educational Technology supplies a list of screened hardware and peripherals for purchase.
Computer Memory Upgrades
Educational Technology has provided to the sites memory upgrades to ensure that all networked computers meet at least the minimum RAM requirements needed to function efficiently.
