These are online activities for Language Arts.

Lessons

Below are ETT Lessons that are available on your server at school. They are also on the Internet at the links below. The initial number indicates the grade level it was written for, but often the lessons can be used effectively by higher grades.

  • 3Book Cubes— an electronic book report that could be done several times throughout the year

  • 3Character Web— students use Draw tools in AppleWorks to create a character web; can be re-used with other stories

  • 3Escondido Interview—students conduct interviews and put the results into a HyperStudio stack

  • 3Writing Paragraphs— a Step Up to Writing inspired lesson that helps students create organized paragraphs

  • 4Diamante— students use a database template to create illustrated Diamante poems

  • 4Five Paragraphs— a five paragraph variant of the 3rd grade lesson above

  • 4Idioms— students illustrate idioms and put the results into a database template that can be output as book pages

  • 4Newsletter— an AppleWorks template for student or class newsletters; room for three articles plus a spreadsheet/graph is built into each edition

  • 456Contact Cards— students use the built-in Business Card Assisstant in AppleWorks to make personalized contact cards

  • 5Roots—students compile a word bank of words containing Greek and Latin roots; their work goes in to a database template that can be output as studdy cards

  • 5Cinquain— students create illustrated cinquain poems and then learn formatting skills to improve the look
