There
are many examples of activities other teachers have created to use
with Kid Pix. How can you use these same activities without reinventing
them? The process is fairly simple and copyright law gives Educators
the right to copy this kind of material for use within their own
classrooms.
1)
Find an activity example that you'd like to use.
Here are some resources to start you
off...
Search for other examples. One way to look is to go to the Altavista
search engine and type:
"Kid Pix" + url:k12.ca
This will look for pages are located on sites that have k12.ca in
their address, most likely school districts in California. Or take
off the .ca to expand your search to the whole US.
2)
Copy the graphic from the web. Paste it into an open Kid Pix document.
You can copy by holding down the mouse, choosing Copy Image, and
moving back to Kid Pix, and then pasting the graphic in.
Or you can save the graphic as a gif and open it with Kid Pix by
choosing Import Graphic.
3)
Save the file and get it put in the place where your kids can get
it.
Have your school computer technician put the file into your school's
Shared Documents folder, where students have "read only"
access and can open the document as a template.
