Classes for 2011-2012 can be held at various school sites. To schedule a staff development class at your site, have your TRT contact Brad, Frank, or Tom.

Beginning Edmodo (Oct 19, Dec 14, Mar 21)
Edmodo is a free social learning network for teachers and students. It provides teachers and students with a secure and easy way to post classroom materials, share links and videos, and access homework, grades and school notices. You'll learn how to sign up, create a class group, post messages and replies, create a poll, and how to get your students signed into the class group. You'll learn how to post links, create assignments, quizzes, grade assignments, upload images and files, and create calendar events. We'll give you lots of examples of how you can use this with your students.

Getting More out of Edmodo (Dec 9, Feb 1, Apr 27)
Edmodo is a free social learning network for teachers and students. It provides teachers and students with a secure and easy way to post classroom materials, share links and videos, and access homework, grades and school notices.You'll learn how to manage your library, manage the gradebook, embed Google docs, presentations, and forms, tag items, and much more. We'll give you lots of examples of how you can use this with your students. Edmodo can be used with the computer and on iPods.
Prerequisites: Have already used Edmodo as a professional development tool or being used with students in your classroom.

Google Docs & Calendar & Organization (Oct 21, Nov 2, Dec 7, Feb 17) Agenda
Learn or review the basics of using Google Docs and Calendar - creating and sharing, importing documents, and using templates. Learn how to use various strategies for keeping everything organized, including sorting, settings, collections, and tags.

Beginning Google Sites (Oct 26, Jan 13, Feb 15) Agenda
With Google Sites you can easily create and update your own teacher website. Google Sites allows you to display a variety of information in one place-including links, attachments, and text. You will leave with a functioning website, so if there are specific ideas you would like to include, bring them with you.
If you have already started a Google site, you can work or listen in, or you may want to go to the "Getting More out of Google Sites" class.

Tips and tricks for customizing your website. Google Sites allows you to display a variety of information in one place-including links, attachments, text, slideshows, calendars, and presentations.

Beginning Google Forms (Nov 9 (cancelled), Jan 27, Mar 23)
Learn how to make online surveys, and quizzes using Google Forms. These online forms can be used with your students on the computer or mobile devices.

Will focus on innovative ways to develop and use a variety of engaging student forms that will support active learning while using technology in such ways as engaging in an interactive scavenger hunt.

Beginning Keynote (Oct 28, Feb 13, Mar 19) Agenda
This class is intended for teachers who want to learn how to use Keynote as an engaging teaching tool in the classroom. You'll learn the basics of how to quickly create a simple yet powerful presentation in no time at all. Students might actually start paying attention to you. You'll learn how to create slides that include audio, video, and animations. See samples of a variety of student projects.

This class is intended for teachers who want to learn how to use Pages as an engaging teaching tool in the classroom. You'll learn the basics of how to quickly create a simple document in no time at all. See the difference between Word Processing and Page Layout documents. Learn to use templates. Getting More out of Pages (Feb 8, Mar 12, May 14) Agenda
This class assumes at least moderate familiarity with Pages or similar page layout programs. Go deeper with your page designs. Learn about charts, tables, sections, and tracking changes. Find out about table of contents and making your own ePub documents. Extend your knowledge of using graphics in sophisticated ways while creating beautiful, useful documents.
