It is my pleasure to welcome you to Hidden Valley Middle School, Home of the Raiders. We are pleased to be sharing another wonderful year with you and your students.
Hidden Valley Middle School is a happy place where students learn. The Hidden Valley staff is highly skilled and continues to implement instructional strategies to meet the needs of each individual student. We believe that every student has the right to a quality education. We make "Excellence" a tradition here at Hidden Valley. Our school motto is emphasized daily: "Excellence By Choice."
In addition to the rigorous daily instruction, we offer an after school intervention program to assist students with the acquisition of English and important math skills. The staff at Hidden Valley is truly committed to making sure that every child becomes academically proficient.
We continue to focus on strong home and school relationships by keeping parents well-informed of upcoming events and how parents can assist the educational process in the classroom. We recognized that there is a high correlation between parent involvement and effective learning. We appreciate parents becoming involved with their child's education.

Dear Hidden Valley Family,
Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, provide an overview of my philosophy of education, and outline my goals for the upcoming year in regards to our students’ achievement and progress. As one of the newest members of the Hidden Valley Middle School Staff, I look forward to meeting you during the course of the year and strengthening the bond that has developed between your home and the school.
I have been a teacher at Escondido Union School District for the past 14 years. I’ve taught first grade, third grade, and have been a technology resource teacher teaching kindergarten through fifth grade, at Felicita, Rock Springs, and Farr Elementary schools, respectively. In the past three years I also served as the administrative designee at Farr Elementary School.
My philosophy of education revolves around the basic notion that a content student is an effective learner. To that end I adhere to a firm, fair, and consistent approach when interacting with students. I strongly believe that all adults have the explicit responsibility to mentor and guide our children in ethical, moral, and academic ways; all of which will result in a harmonious student.
My main goal for this coming year is to develop a positive rapport with the students, parents, and staff at Hidden Valley. I will strive to provide the students at Hidden Valley a safe and comfortable learning haven where academics, and specifically reading comprehension, are the main focus.
