Topic: * Grade Level Mathematics Planning Academy - Beginning the Year-Long Plan

Develop a year-long plan while attending these collaborative planning workshops. This is a series of workshops and each of the following dates offers grade level meetings to plan and highlight key grade level concepts. Each grade level will be supported by two teachers who assisst while participants develop a coordinated schedule for 6 to 8 weeks. Combination class needs can be planned as well. Assistance with assessment will be a key feature of the planning sessions. Teachers must register in order to participate.

BTSA Spport Provider and New Teacher Mentor Tuneups

These tuneup sessions are designed to support Support Providers and New Teacher Mentors in training and in the implementation of CFASST, sessons will provide collegial support and dialogue in working in a variety of areas with beginning teachers. Support providers need to notify the BTSA department at extention 153 if they are not able to attend a session.

1999 - 2000 Schedule of BTSA Academies

EUSD will be having two academies to service our first year and second year beginning teachers. A few of our events will be held together, but becasue of the different focuses, and the number of participants, our two-tier academy workshop sessions will help meet individual needs.

Academy l workshops are designed for first year participants, or 1998 -99 participants who did not complete CFASST events 1,2,3, and 4.

Academy ll workshops are designed for second year participants and will focus on curriculum and assessment, as well as revisiting all standards in the CSTP. These participants must have completed CFASST Events 1, 2, 3, and 4, or meet with the BTSA Director for program placement.

BTSA Beginning Teachers and Support Providers may be able to receive 3 semester university credits for their 1999 -00 BTSA participation. Information will be shared with teachers when it is received from Cal State San Marcos.
