2013-2015 EUSD School Board Focus Goals

The Escondido Union School District Board of Education reflects upon and
evaluates its current strategic plan every two years. Before establishing
new strategic goals, the district garners stakeholders’ perspectives. On
Monday, April 15, 2013, the Board of Education held a Town Hall meeting
for community members to provide their input into the school system’s
future direction.

For this year's iVIE Awards (Innovative Video in Education),EUSD's Project LIVE teachers had 17 videos nominated in 10 different categories. EUSD Project LIVE teachers won 5 of the 10 categories that had films submitted, including:

  • Mr. Tillyer's class from Reidy Creek won the K-2 Cross Curricular Category
  • Isabel Muga from L. R. Green School won the 3-5 Science Category
  • Ms. Whitney's Video Production Class had 3 winners
    • 6-8 Broadcast Journalism
    • 6-8 Language Arts
    • 6-8 Public Service Announcement

This is an event open to all 42 San Diego County Districts and EUSD has consistently had a very strong showing.

saturday, April 13, 2013, the community came together in Grape Day Park and the Escondido Community Gallery to celebrate Escondido's first annual sm{ART} Festival. The event ran from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and included many events and activities like: student art exhibits, "Make and Take" art projects, face painting and airbrushing, games and contests, live music and dance performances, and a special performance by the Civic Youth Orchestra. Participating schools include: Del Dios Middle School, Juniper Elementary, L.R. Green Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Nicolaysen Community Day, North Broadway Elementary, Orange Glen Elementary, and San Pasqual High School. The event was organized by Escondido Alliance for Arts Education. Contact information and more photos of the event.

A group of educators from New Zealand visited Escondido schools on April 15 to see classroom technology in action. This is the Kiwis eigth year visiting EUSD Schools.

Begins with me On August 17, 2011, many district staff met at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido for an inspiring open to the new school year. Central was the underlying message: It Begins with Me. To see a glimpse of that morning and idea, watch this movie.

School Choice 2012-2013 Application Process

Application Notification will be mailed home the week of November 1st-November 4th.

School Choice Application Window will be from November 7th-December 9th.

School Choice Lottery will be taking place by January 31st.

School Choice Status Notification will be taking place by February 29th.
